Kenanga Investors Berhad ("KIB") is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, the largest independent investment bank by equity trading value and volume*. KIB is licensed to perform regulated activities of fund management dealing in securities (restricted to unit trusts), investment advice, financial planning, and dealing in Private Retirement Schemes ("PRS") under the Capital Markets and Services Act ("CMSA") 2007. KIB provides investment solutions ranging from collective investment schemes, portfolio management services as well as segregated private mandates and alternative investments for retail, corporate, institutional clients and high net-worth individuals. KIB prides itself on its reputation for its consistent top performance.

The 2022 Morningstar Fund Awards Malaysia awarded the Kenanga Growth Fund Series 2 (USD) with its inaugural win with the Best Malaysia Large-Cap Equity title.

At the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards Malaysia 2022, KIB won overall best Mixed Asset - Malaysia Provident Fund Group award for the third time. Accompanying this were individual fund wins awarded to:

  • Kenanga Growth Fund for best Equity Malaysia Fund over 10 Years
  • Kenanga Malaysian Inc Fund for best Equity Malaysia Diversified over 3 Years
  • Kenanga Growth Opportunities Fund for best Equity Malaysia Small & Mid Cap over 5 Years
  • Kenanga Diversified Fund for best Mixed Asset MYR Flexible over 10 Years

The Hong Kong-based Asia Asset Management's 2022 Best of the Best Awards awarded KIB under the following categories, Malaysia Best Equity Manager (4th consecutive year), Malaysia Best Impact Investing Manager, Best Application of ESG (ASEAN), Malaysia CEO of the Year (3rd win), Malaysia CIO of the Year (6th win), and Malaysia Best House for Alternatives (3rd win).

The Asset Benchmark Research has ranked KIB as Highly Commended on its list of ‘Top Investment Houses’ in the Asian Local Currency Bond Awards for Asset Managers.

The FSMOne Recommended Unit Trusts Awards 2022/2023, named Kenanga Growth Fund Series 2 as “Sector Equity – Malaysia Focused” and Kenanga Shariah Growth Opportunities Fund as “Sector Equity - Malaysia Small to Medium Companies (Islamic)”.

For the sixth consecutive year, KIB was affirmed an investment manager rating of IMR-2 by Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad, since first rated in 2017. The IMR rating on KIB reflects the fund management company’s well-established investment processes and sound risk management practices. During the first half of 2021, KIB’s 20 largest unit trust funds outperformed its benchmarks for the one-year, three-year and five-year periods.

As at 31 October 2022, the firm manages 39 unit trust funds, 2 private retirement schemes (consisting of 6 core funds and 1 non-core fund), 2 exchange-traded funds (ETFs), 29 wholesale funds and other funds from government agencies, pension funds, insurance, corporate and individual clients with total assets under administration amounting to RM21.39 billion.

Kenanga Islamic Investors Berhad ("KIIB")

KIIB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kenanga Investors Berhad. In line with Kenanga Investors Group's business plans for an Islamic fund management arm, KIIB applied for and received its Islamic fund management license from the Securities Commission in April 2012. The company is licensed to perform regulated activities of fund management under the CMSA.

KIIB is focused on exclusively providing Shariah-compliant investment products to both domestic and regional markets. The company provides Islamic investment solutions in portfolio management services and is currently the appointed external fund manager for Kenanga Investors’ designated Islamic mandates.

KIIB was also affirmed an investment manager rating of IMR-2 by Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad for the sixth year running. The rating reflects an assessment that mirrors KIB’s due to the significant integration between the two entities by way of shared resources and infrastructure

As at 31 October 2022, the total asset under management of KIIB stands at approximately RM2.5 billion.

i-VCAP Management Sdn Bhd (“i-VCAP”)

i-VCAP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kenanga Investors Berhad. It was incorporated on 25 October 2007 and has a Capital Markets Services Licence (CMSL) which was issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. Its principal business activity is the provision of Shariah-compliant investment management services. As at 31 October 2022, i-VCAP has a total number of 4 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and the Asset Under Management (“AUM”) stands at RM328.18 million.
